It's been a week since my last post, so decided it was about time for another one. I was hoping for a couple of pictures from a friend before posting, but that hasn't happened yet so will have to do this without them. Not a lot exciting happening with us really, but just the small day-to-day things that keep us busy.
Last Friday night the school had a Food Fair and Garage sale after school. I think the turn out was good and some people got rid of some of their "junk" they didn't want anymore. At the same time that was going on, the varsity boys had a basketball game. I was back and forth between the two events, trying to watch the game yet keep my eye on the kids. Greg actually missed the game because he was meeting with a student about something else. At 6:30 that evening we took the girls to a Junior class fund raiser called Parent's Night Out. We really don't need to do that anymore since KB is old enough to watch them for us, but we decided to do our part to support the class (and give the boys a break from watching the girls). Besides, the girls always enjoying playing with the older kids on campus. It didn't turn out to be much of a date night, because I decided, a bit last minute, to get my hair cut while we were out and about (I was feeling quite desperate). That took longer than I had anticipated and by the time I was actually done and met up with Greg, we only had 1/2 hour left of our time before needing to pick up the girls! So we called KB here at home and told him to run down to school and get the girls so that we wouldn't have to hurry back so quickly. It was nice to have that option. We then had time to pick up some groceries before heading home. It wasn't exactly how I envisioned spending the evening, but such is life sometimes.
On Saturday KR went to her friend, M's birthday party. They went to a play place called Adventure Zone which has big slides (I have never been there though, so I don't know exactly what it's like...I just know the kids really enjoy it). She was gone until around mid-afternoon.
There was another bball game at school in the late afternoon and then that evening I went out with my lady friends to help celebrate the 40th birthday of my good friend, Robin. She chose for us to dress up and go to a nice restaurant in Batu. It's always such fun to spend time catching up with everyone and celebrating these milestones together. The food was good and the service was excellent so I would definitely like to go back sometime on a date with Greg.

I just took the above picture for fun and thought it turned out kind of neat.
On Sunday afternoon we got a big rain so I took some pictures of the kids playing in the rain, which I haven't done for a while. They had a great time.
Greg is the Advanced Merit Diploma Coordinator at our school. The AMD, as it is called, is an additional project that students can choose to take on their Junior and Senior years. Some of the requirements to received this diploma include community service hours, AP classes, certain GPA, an 8-10 page paper on their topic they have chosen to present, as well as a 25 minute oral presentation of the finished product (and possibly some other criteria I am missing). This afternoon three students presented their projects. Greg was pleased with how it all went considering they seemed nowhere near ready to do their presentations last week! I told him it's always nice to be pleasantly surprised rather than unpleasantly surprised! I'm not sure if they passed all components of the project, but the oral presentations went well. I had extra little girls at my house today, or else I might have tried to go to the presentations. One of the students was a former Spanish student of mine and it would have been nice to support him.
This Friday night my friend, Athy, is having a Mama Mia party at her house. I still have not seen the movie yet so I think I will go. She is also serving Greek food...so how can I pass it up! I'm sure it will all be wonderful. Hospitality is her gifting for sure! I highly doubt I will end up being a big fan of the movie, but it will be the best way to watch it, with a bunch of lady friends! I am looking forward to that.

Then in the evening we were invited to celebrate an early Thanksgiving with several other families at our friends' house (Bruce and Athy). The food was delicious and the company was sweet. And once again, the hosts out did themselves. Everything was fabulous! Greg had to practically roll me out of the place when it was time, I ate SO much. WAY too much. Sigh...
